Japan’s population decline is creating problems far beyond fewer births.
The country is seeing fewer marriages, more deaths than births, a shrinking workforce, abandoned homes, depopulating rural towns, and a rapidly aging population.
By 2070, Japan is projected to be dramatically smaller, with older people making up an even larger share.
